Who is boxer Ryan Garcia?
Ryan Garcia is an American of Mexican descent professional boxer from Victorville, Calif. He was born on Aug. 8, 1998.
Garcia began boxing at the age of seven, and during his career as an amateur, he became a15-time champion with a 215-15 boxing record. Garcia is trained by Eddy Reynoso who also trained Canelo Álvarez. Making his first professional debut on June 9, 2016, against Edgar Mezza, Garcia earned a victory by TKO (Total Knockout) in the first round.
He currently competes in the Lightweight and the Super Featherweight, and as of 2019, held the WBC Silver Lightweight title. His nicknames in the ring are "The Flash" and "KingRy."
Garcia is currently 20-0, winning 17 of his matches by KOs; his pro fights usually last around three rounds. Garcia is ranked fifth in the ring. His last fight took place on Feb. 14, 2020, against Francisco Fonseca, ending with a knockout victory in the first round.
According to Dazn News, Garcia has a scheduled match this year on December 5 in California. It's going to be against Luke Campbell, who is 32 years old. Campbell is currently 20-3, winning 16 matches by KOs. He participated in the 2012 London Olympics and won the gold medal for bantamweight. Campbell is probably going to be the hardest opponent Garcia is going to face in his career.
