The CHS rifle team is also in the midst of an impressive season, with a group of shooters Commander Alex Baker called "perhaps its strongest ever." On Tuesday night, they faced off against Tift County, who senior leader Brooke Hilgartner said is one of the team's biggest rivals due to its defeats over CHS in recent memory. This year, Tift County tried to shoot their shot against CHS but missed: Our rifle team emerged victorious and pushed their season score to 8-1!
The team, which is currently ranked number one in the region, will next face Colquitt County on Thursday, February 25 in its final match of the season. On March 11, CHS will have the honor of hosting the Area 2 Championships at the new indoor practice range.
