Strange Trumpet Sounds from Sky Explained?

Many people from all over the world have claimed to hear loud, apocalyptic trumpet-like noises from the sky. These sounds have even been recorded a few times, but what can explain these unsettling sounds from the sky? Scientists have a few ideas for what the source of the noises are.

These loud sounds have been reportedly heard in the U.S., Mexico, Slovakia, Italy, Brazil, and Argentina. Many believe the noises are a sign from God; A sign of the Rapture, or the end of the world. The bible says seven trumpets will sound, one at a time, to cue apocalyptic events. But scientists have a few explanations for what the sounds may really be.

These noises have been coined "Skyquakes" by scientists. Skyquakes may cause obvious vibrations in buildings or across particular areas. People who have experienced these disturbing noises usually don't have any idea what it is, so they are perceived as "mysterious" or "threatening".

Many scientists point to natural causes for the noises, like earthquakes, tidal waves, methane explosions, and even shifting sand dunes. U.S. Geological Survey scientist David Hill says small earthquakes below the surface can transmit sounds of the Earth's cracking crust. He says meteors may also be the cause of the loud noises from the sky.
