P.B.I.S. team holding third nine weeks Roll Out

Freshmen receive shaved ice treats from the Kona Ice vendor in the CHS front lawn on March 31

On Wednesday, March 31, Cairo High School held its third nine weeks "Roll Out." Eligible students were served a shaved ice treat from the Kona Ice truck, perfect for the warming weather!

These special events have been organized every nine weeks since the fall of 2018 by the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (P.B.I.S.) team at CHS to reward students for positive behavior and accomplishments.

The P.B.I.S. "MAKER Matrix" lays out the expectations for student conduct at CHS

This time around, students received their tickets with their names during first block. Students were required to keep up with and present their tickets to leave class, attend the rollout, and receive their Kona Ice shaved ice and free time to socialize with friends.

To be eligible to attend this Roll Out, students had to fulfill the following requirements:

  • No failing grades during the third nine weeks

  • No more than three unexcused absences during the third nine weeks

  • No office discipline referrals during the third nine weeks

In order to allow Kona Ice to prepare and distribute the snow cones, the Roll Out was divided throughout the afternoon by grade level:

  • 12:30 p.m. - 9th Grade (Front Lawn)

  • 1 p.m. - 10th Grade (Front of Auditorium)

  • 1:30 p.m. - 11th Grade (Front Lawn)

  • 2 p.m. - 12th Grade (Front of Auditorium)
