Mark's Melon Patch open this fall for family fun

Mark’s Melon Patch in Dawson, Ga. (near Albany) is a pumpkin patch with produce and flowers galore. The produce farm is famous for its sunflowers, melons, and fresh produce all around the area. Mark’s Melon Patch also has jellies, jams, preserves, syrups, pickled vegetables, pecans, peanuts, BBQ sauces, candies and many more foods available. Some other produce and nuts available are watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, tomatoes, peanuts, pecans, Vidalia onions, peas/beans, blueberries, plums, okra, squash, gourds, and of course, pumpkins. They may also now be purchased online at marksmelonpatch.com.

Mark’s Melon Patch is open daily from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. during the seasons of spring, summer, and fall. It’s also open in the wintertime during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

There is a five-acre corn maze open daily from September 24 to the end of November from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Special flashlight events are also held on select nights inside the maze throughout the month of October, including October 13 and 20, and 24 - 27. The flashlight corn maze events begin at dusk and run until 9:30 p.m.

Each September and October, you can find pumpkins all over the patch. There are plenty of activities for family fun, such as the educational barn, Mark’s Monster Slide, Giant Pumpkin and Corn Jump Castle, Corn Cannon, Billy Joe the Talking Scarecrow, Pumpkin Playground, Dunking Booth, Spooky Barn Corn Maze, and Duck Races. There are also farm animals and a homemade ice cream stand.

Mark’s Melon Patch also offers educational field trips for younger children. The tour of the farm will include educational lessons on how the farm workers grow and harvest their pumpkins. The children can take a ride on the hayride through the pumpkin patch, and each student will have an opportunity to take home a souvenir pumpkin bracelet and a miniature pumpkin.
