Halloween Crafts To Do!
We are all excited about October 31st because it's Halloween! We can dress up as anything we want, and we all need to decorate our house in some way. Be creative and be crafty because here are some fun craft ideas!
Lark’s Head Knot:
Hold 2 pieces of cord together and fold in half
Wrap the folded half around the embroidery hoop
Pull all 4 tails through the loop. Pull tight to secure. Repeat around the top hoop
Start by creating Lark’s Head knots with one cord each across the top of the hoop.
Starting with the leftmost piece, wrap it over the next 2 cords to the right.
Then take the 4th cord and wrap it behind the previous two cords on the left, tucking it through the space between the first 2 cords.
Pull to tighten. Continue across the embroidery hoop
Spider Web Wreath
First, fold 2 sheets of black paper accordion-style about 1.5" inch folds, and then fold each in half lengthwise.
Cut the top of the fold diagonally, so you'll have a pointed end when it's unfolded.
Then, cut three rectangles out of the paper, about half an inch apart, on each segment.
Once you have folded and cut both sheets of paper, tie them together tightly at their centerfolds.
Take each loose edge of folded paper and attach it to the end next to it with glue.
Popsicle Stick Haunted House
Black & purple paint
Halloween foam stickers
Yellow and green Card stock
Hot Glue ( by an adult)
You will need to take your largest popsicle sticks and line 6-7 beside each other. Take 2 more sticks and glue them horizontally onto the back of the lined-up sticks. This will create a base for the haunted house.
Next, paint the house purple. Then paint smaller popsicle sticks black for the roof, windows, and door.
Glue 2 popsicle sticks, overlapping at a point onto the purple base to form a roof. Continue with smaller-sized popsicle sticks until you are happy with the size of the roof. You can cut pieces of regular popsicle sticks to make them fit.
Cut out 2 squares from the yellow card stock for the windows. With a black sharpie, add lines for the window panes. Glue 4 pieces of popsicle sticks around the outside edge of the yellow paper, overlapping them at the corners.
Glue the windows onto the purple house. Using the same method as the windows, glue small black popsicle sticks to a green cardstock rectangle for the door. Leave the bottom of the door without a popsicle stick. Attach it to the house with hot glue.
Add foam Halloween stickers or create your own Halloween characters from drawings or cardstock to glue on. You can even make your own sign if you want to.
