Grady choirs present 10th Annual Fall Choral Concert
On Tuesday, October 26 at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium, the Cairo High School chorus performed the 10th Annual Fall Choral Concert alongside choirs from Eastside, Southside, and Northside elementary schools. The evening's theme was "Shine Like Stars," and the choirs were joined by special guest Mr. Ed Self on piano.
Due to ongoing COVID concerns, attendance was limited to the participants, and the concert was recorded and shared virtually with the Grady community via the Cairo High School Chorus YouTube page.
The concert began with a performance by the Southside Elementary chorus. Directed by Mrs. Whitney Scanling, the students performed “Child of This World’’ by Teresa Jennings and “You-Nigue’’ by Quavermusic.
Next up was a performance by the Eastside Elementary chorus, directed by Mrs. Megan Lokey. The students performed “May There Be Goodwill," followed by “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” by Randy Newman.
The Northside Elementary School chorus performed next, directed by Mrs. Lindsey Phillips. The students performed “Keep The Music Going” by Teresa Jennings, then another song by Teresa Jennings, "Big World, Small World.”
The Cairo High School concert choir, directed by Ms. Erikka Edwards, then performed “Ubi Caritas” by Victor C. Johnson and ‘’Gaudeamus Hodi” Earlene Rentz.
The concert wrapped up with a combined performance by all the choirs of “Shine Like Stars” by Pinkzebra.
