CHS Theater club performs 'South Pacific'

The cast of "South Pacific" takes a bow after performing for CHS students

The CHS Fine Arts Department, including the Theater Club, performed "South Pacific" over this past weekend.

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, the students performed the play in front of the CHS student body. We were having technical difficulties with the sound, but overall the play ran smoothly. As soon as the play was over, the student body gave them a big round of applause. Twelfth grade economics teacher, Mr. Del Bibles, came up to the sound booth and told me and Mrs. Bock, "The kids did a very good job. Even though we had some difficulties with the sound, they were excellent."

The next day, the students performed again at 7:30 p.m. The play went smoothly, and the audience really loved it. Most of the audience was even laughing. After the play, they had refreshments in Mrs. Whitney Brown's classroom.

The following day, the students performed again at 7:00 p.m. The students did a great job enunciating and speaking with great volume. The crowd was pleased. Everybody began taking pictures with the cast. Also, well-known, retired drama teacher, Mrs. Orr, came and saw the show. She said she was impressed with the students' performances.

Sunday, the kids performed the play at 1:30 p.m; it was their last time performing.
