CHS holds 2019 Raconteur assembly

On Friday, May 3, 2019, the annual Raconteur, or yearbook, assembly was held in the school gymnasium beginning at 9 a.m. At the beginning of the assembly, it was announced that this year's Raconteur is dedicated to Mrs. Tonnie Gainous.

Mrs. Barbara Godwin is head of our yearbook committee. She is in charge of taking pictures of all the students at here at CHS and putting together a yearly photo album of students at pep rallies, games, Homecomings, and more. She also has a staff of Raconteur students who are also involved in this, as well. You may have seen them take pictures during some of your classes. They also put together many of the photos. The yearbook will feature the graduating senior photos, club photos, and events that have happened this year. Each yearbook has been designed differently every year.

This year's Raconteur yearbook theme is "Connected," and during the assembly, there were many throwback senior portraits of CHS teachers from their days at CHS, as well as videos of teachers from different elementary and middle schools congratulating seniors and "connecting" them back to their roots. In the videos, some of the current CHS teachers took the time to also say some words about why they came back to CHS to teach and what they did as a student while attending school. They all gave motivational words of encouragement to start the next chapter in our lives.

This year's Raconteur has a glass cover with a collage of photos of different students showing their school pride. This year, the books show many of the students who participate in many events in the school, community, or field trips they attended.

Yearbooks are still on sale for $75 from Mrs. Godwin.
