Browns make huge move to acquire Odell from Giants
According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jason LA Canfora, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, the Cleveland Browns made an exciting trade with the New York Giants. The Browns gave the Giants their first, second, and third round pick of the 2019 draft and Jabrill Peppers for Odell Beckham, Jr.
Just wow! This trade makes the Browns one of the best teams in the AFC. According to SportsLine's Stephen Oh, the Browns' chance of winning the AFC North has risen to 50.5 percent with Beckham. Their projected number of wins has jumped to 10.1. Acquiring Beckham in his prime is a great move on the Browns' part. Since 2014, "Odell" has averaged 92.8 yards per game and 44 touchdowns.
ESPN reports Beckham said that Browns' receiver Jarvis Landry receiver told him that the team's general manager, John Dorsey, and Coach Freddie Kitchens, wanted Beckham really badly. Beckham then said the Giants General Manager Dave Gettleman called him and said, "I am trading you to the Browns." Beckham and Landry are great friends who will make the Browns better and play great off of each other.
Beckham is getting lots of upgrade at quarterback in Baker Mayfield. In the last part of the 2018 season, Mayfield ranked among the top 10 in passer rating, QBR, and yards per attempt. Odell will love Mayfield, as the quarterback loves to throw the deep ball. Mayfield has a 113.9 passer rating on deep throws.
