Recap: 2019 Oscars Winners
Although the 2019 Oscars season has now wrapped up, many people might not have had the opportunity to view the Sunday night event. Luckily, the CHS Red and Black can provide a list of all the awards and their winners, along with related articles.
One of the biggest awards of the night was "Best Performance By an Actor in a Leading Role," which went to Rami Malek for his performance in hit Queen Biopic, "Bohemian Rhapsody." The film also took home three separate awards for achievements in Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Film Editing.
After his acceptance speech, while exiting the stage, Malek tripped and was immediately rushed to by fellow celebrities and paramedics. He showed no signs of major injury.
Another big winner was Olivia Colman for "Best Performance By an Actress in a Leading Role" for her role in "The Favorite."
Mahershala Ali won "Best Performance By an Actor in a Supporting Role" for his part in "Green Book." Meanwhile, Regina King took home "Best Performance By an Actress in a Supporting Role" for her role in "If Beale Street Could Talk."
"Best Animated Film of the Year" went to "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse"
Some of the other awards given out that night were "Best Foreign Language Film of the Year" and "Achievement in Directing," which went to "Roma"; "Achievement in Music Written for a Motion Picture," which went to "Black Panther"; and "Best Documentary Short Subject," which went to "Period. End of Sentence."
"Black Panther" also received the award for "Achievement in Costume Design."
