Thrift sale held in Valdosta to benefit local charities

In Valdosta, Ga., the Valdosta Junior Service League will be hosting its 8th annual thrift sale to benefit local charities on Saturday, March 2, 2019. The event will begin at 7 a.m. and last until noon at Mathis Auditorium, located at 2300 North Ashley street in Valdosta.

The thrift sale benefits local nonprofit organizations in the Valdosta- Lowndes County community. Some of the things that shoppers will get to expect to find will be a large assortment of furniture, home accessories, toys, and electronics. People who take part in this sale have been collecting things all year, and customers who visit the sale get very excited about the available selections. The proceeds from the sale go towards the Valdosta Junior Service League's community-based programs. Beyond raising money for charity, the purpose of this yearly event is to make quality used goods available to the community at very low prices.

Along with AmeriMed, this event is sponsored by other companies such as Ace Electric, The Citizens Bank, and First State Bank & Trust. It's presented by South Georgia. The "Tossed and Found" will be cash only, and customers should be prepared for the $5 "Stuff- A- Sack" sale while shopping in the thrift sale.
