Duke tops CBB Power Rankings
These are the hottest teams at the top of the Power Rankings in college basketball, according to ESPN here are the rankings.
Duke Blue Devils: On Wednesday night, Duke missed 31 3’s in their loss to North Carolina, and Zion Williamson was injured. Williamson is listed as day-to-day but may play Saturday night when Duke faces Syracuse. Syracuse has already beaten Duke once this season, and if Zion is out, the chances of winning again are high.
Virginia Cavaliers: Virginia beat Virginia Tech on Monday for the second time this season. Virginia has beaten everyone this season except Duke. They play Louisville Saturday, which is a team that has four players shooting 42 percent or higher from the 3-point range.
Tennessee Volunteers: The Volunteers struggled offensively Tuesday night against Vanderbilt in an ugly win. Grant Williams, the Volunteers' leading scorer, is on pace to be the third Tennessee player to lead the SEC in scoring. On Saturday, Tennessee faces LSU.
Gonzaga Bulldogs: The Bulldogs beat Pepperdine on Thursday night, the 36th straight win for the Bulldogs over Pepperdine. Josh Perkins also broke the school record for assists. He broke Matt Santangelo's 19-year record of 668 assists, which had stood since 2000. Gonzaga plays BYU Saturday.
Kentucky Wildcats: Kentucky beat Misssouri Tuesday, but Reid Travis is out for the next week with a sprained knee. Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery must play big in his absence. Kentucky had their best game last Saturday against Tennessee. The Wildcats shot 54 percent from the field against Tennessee. It was the best any team had shot against Tennessee all season.
