Lisa Jewell publishes new book, "Then She was Gone"
Lisa Jewell is a British author of popular fiction who has published a book called “Then She Was Gone.” The book was published April 17, 2018, by Atria Books and is 359 pages long
The book is about a 15-year-old girl named Ellie who just disappears in the blink of an eye. Ten years later, her mother, Laurel, has never given up hope of finding her.
According to GoodReads, "one day a charming and charismatic stranger called Floyd walks into a café and sweeps Laurel off her feet. Before too long she’s staying the night at this house and being introduced to his nine year old daughter.”
Poppy is the name of his daughter, who is described as a precocious and pretty girl. When Laurel saw her, she completely took her breath away. As it turns out, his daughter is the spitting image of her daughter, Ellie, when she was that age.
"Now all those unanswered questions that have haunted Laurel come flooding back. What happened to Ellie? Where did she go? Who still has secrets to hide?”
Having read some of Lisa Jewell's other books, I can tell you that she is a really good writer and that her imagery, her choice of words, and the way she thinks is really creative.
