Cairo man attacked with box cutter
A Cairo, Ga., man was slashed in the face with a box cutter on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 9:30 p.m.
A witness, Maximo Hererra, told the Cairo police that 22-year-old Francisco Deleon had been making negative comments about Marvin Beltrain's brother when Beltrain shoved him. According to Herrera, Deleon then took the box cutter and cut Beltrain across his face.
Deleon was later taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault and also criminal trespassing.
Hererra said that Deleon was not on the scene when law enforcement arrived and found 31-year-old Beltrain bleeding from the left side of his head, cheek, and under his eye. The responding officer, Donnie Roland, said blood was on the floor, chairs, and the sofa where Beltrain had been sitting.
According to the reports, Deleon returned home to the house and he began to rip an air conditioning unit out from a window, causing it to fall on the ground become damaged.
The police found Deleon laying under a black truck parked in the yard and placed him under arrest. Police said he was not able to be processed due to the fact that he had was intoxicated; he was transported to the Grady County Detention Center.
