CHS students audition for spring musical, "South Pacific"
CHS Theatre teacher, Ms. Bock, has announced auditions for the musical called “South Pacific.” Ms. Bock said that while she would have liked to see more students audition, she was very pleased with the effort and the talent of the students who did audition.
The choreography was taught by Ms. Harrison, CHS dance director, and was later on performed in front of the three Judges: Ms. Landrie Bock, Ms. Hannah Harrison, and Ms. Erikka Edwards. Ms. Bock worked on the skit while Ms. Edwards worked on the music with the students to get ready to perform.
Audition isn’t that hard; they just ask that you try and do your best.
Also for those who just want to dance and not act or sing, you can still be in the performance as a dancer. If there is anyone who just loves the theatre and doesn’t want to be on stage, he or she can help out with the costumes, curtains, or even the spotlights.
Ms. Bock wants students to know that they don't need to be enrolled in the theatre class in order to audition. The more auditions students attend, the more opportunities they will have to be cast in the future.
Ms. Bock is pulling together students with different skills from different departments at CHS, from CTAE to art. For example, Mr. Coleman's students are working together to design and create set pieces.
The dates for the performances of "South Pacific" are the following:
Friday, May 3, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
Admission will be free, and Ms. Bock asks that you come and support the students and the arts!
