Jody Hedlund publish new book, "Searching for You"
Jody Hedlund is the author of over twenty historical novels for both adults and teens and is the winner of numerous awards including the Christy, Carol, and Christian Book Awards. Hedlund recently released her new book, called “Searching for you.”
The book was published Dec. 4, 2018, by Bethany House Publishers. The genre of the book is romance, and it's 314 pages long. The book is about a woman by the name of Sophia Neumann who has been on the run for years but is determined to take care for two young children.
Neumann grew up thinking her older sister abandoned her, which is why she won’t abandon them. Later, Neumann falls in with the wrong crowd and ends up witnessing a crime that causes her to run.
The book is set around the 1850s in New York.
According to Goodreads, “Disappearing with her two young charges into a group of orphans heading west by train, Sophie hopes to find safety and a happy life. When the train stops in Illinois for the first placement of orphans, Sophie faces the most difficult choice of her life.”
Reinhold Weiss is Neumann's long-lost friend whom she goes to for help. Weiss has his own small farm and his own past scars that haunt him, putting him in a position where he can’t give his heart away.
