Video Game Preview: "Metro Exodus"
The "Metro" franchise has been around since 2010, beginning with the game "Metro 2033" and leading up to the newest game, "Metro Exodus," which will be coming out on Feb. 22, 2019. The game series places the player in world where the world has come to an end by nuclear fallout, and to survive, people move underground in the metros of Russia. The story takes place during WW2, so the Russians and Germans keep fighting under ground. The only way to come out the tunnels is to wear a gas mask.
The first "Metro 2033" game was developed by 4A Games, and the game's engine was the 4A Engine, which was created by the same company. The game was self-published by 4A and came out on March 16, 2010, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Linux.
The second game to be released by 4A Games and which was fully created by the company was "Metro: Last Light." The game came out on May 14, 2013, and was another great selling game for 4A Games.
The company's third installment in the game series of "Metro" was "Metro Redux," which was released on Aug. 26, 2014. The game was another hit with great sales. The game finally got major publishers, Buka Entertainment and Deep Silver, to help put "Metro's" name out there more and help with sales. "Metro Redux" ended up being the series' best-selling entry.
The newest game to the series is "Metro Exodus," and the gaming community has set a high bar for the new game to achieve. The game's creators and publishers have high hopes that the game will be as great as the last three games or even be better than them all.
