Top 5 college football Heisman candidates
According to ESPN, here are the current top five Heisman candidates for the 2018 season:
"Tua" is no doubt one of the most impressive quarterbacks in college football. Through week 11, he has racked up a staggering 2,525 passing yards. He currently has the best quarterback rating in college football with a 95.8. This past Saturday, he led the tide to a 24-0 win over Mississippi State's tough defense.
Murray is already a minor league baseball player (drafted ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics in last year's draft), but with the production he has for the 2018 season, he may consider going into the NFL draft, as well. Through week 11, he has a total of 3,038 passing yards. Tua would have the same or more if he actually played into the fourth quarter. Murray also has a total of 32 touchdowns. This past Saturday, he led the Sooners to 48-47 win over Oklahoma, completing the game with a total of 349 yards.
Grier has been impressive in every showing this year. Last week against TCU, he threw for 343 touchdowns and ended the game with three touchdowns. Through week 11, he has thrown for 2,961 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Minshew is one of the top draft prospects going into the NFL draft, one of the reasons being is that he has total of 3,852 passing yards through 10 games. Last Saturday against Colorado, he threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns.
Over the past two games, Williams has recorded 3.5 sacks and 16 tackles. Williams is also a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, which is given to the best defensive player in the country. For the season, Williams has a total of 48 tackles and 4 sacks.
