Bainbridge Public Safety investigating stolen firearms from Flint River Outfitters
On the night of Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, around 11:41 p.m., Flint River Outfitters in Bainbridge, Ga., was burglarized and 13 firearms, including revolvers and pistols, were stolen.
The business alarm went off, indicating left rear motion, which alerted the Bainbridge Public Safety officers.
Inside the store, their Christmas tree had been knocked down, with several ornaments crushed and stepped on.
Bainbridge Public Safety officer Matthews continued to investigate and found out that the burglars had attempted to bust three other windows; the back door also had smears and imprints on the glass where something had been thrown at it several times.
While investigating, store owner Edwin McCullers arrived on scene and found that the power at the main box had been turned off before the store was burglarized.
"After investigators cleared the building to make sure no one was still inside, McCullers and officers found that the two wooden doors leading to the gun room had been pulled apart and one of the doors were broken", according to the Post Searchlight.
Matthews found large amounts of shattered glass where the display cases had been broken into. She observed several empty slots where guns should have been and compared them with store inventory.
Bainbridge Public Safety is asking anyone who knows any information to come forward.
According to The Post Searchlight, "There is a $1,500 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible."
