5 top players entering 2018-2019 college basketball season

College basketball is full of talent and fun to watch. Here are the five best players as the 2018-2019 season begins.

1. R.J. Barrett Freshmen, Small Forward, Duke

According to nbadraft.net, the incoming freshmen is already favored to be the number 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Barrett is a tremendous finisher around the rim. The freshmen can simply overpower or blow past any defender in his way. He can hit the three consistently and guard four positions on defense.

2. Carsen Edwards Junior, Point Guard, Purdue

Edwards is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 18.5 points per game while also shooting over 40 percent from three. Edwards is the most consistent player on this list. He is the only returning starter for his team, so Purdue will count on him to reach his full potential.

3. Caleb Martin Senior, Small Forward, Nevada

Last season, Martin was named Mountain West Player of the Year. Martin is athletic and can hit shots from anywhere on the court. When he averaged 18.9 points per game last season, many thought he was going to declare for the draft. Instead he decided to return for his senior year and try to carry Nevada to a championship.

4. Dedric Lawson Junior, Power Foward, Kansas

As a sophomore at Memphis, Lawson averaged 19.2 points per game and 9.9 rebounds. He transferred to Kansas this summer, and him joining makes them a favorite to win the National Championship. Kansas Coach Bill Self said Lawson is the best passer he’s ever had at Kansas.

5. Nassir Little Freshmen, Small Forward, North Carolina

Another freshmen who could be a lottery pick in the draft, Little plays through contact and has an aggressive mindset. He can run the floor pretty well and finish in transition. Expect him to make a solid impact on defense with his hands and good anticipation.
