Veterans Festival to be in held Thomasville

Come support our veterans at the local Veterans Festival this Saturday, Nov 10, 2018, from noon-6 p.m.

The festival will be held in Thomasville, Ga., at the Deep South Fairgrounds on HWY 122.

Throughout the festival, there will be many fun and exciting things to do with your family. This includes bouncy houses for the kids, obstacle courses, face painting, a bike show, grilling out, food trucks, and many more amusing things to do with the family.

The festival will have also feature live music by acts such as Jon Bellamy and the Rebels, Reconcile, Ben Goldman, Flyer, and Jamie Eubanks band. The line up will be subject to change.

Thad LeGette, bass player for Jon Bellamy and the Rebels, told the Red and Black that the band is expecting a good crowd to show up to this festival, even though this is their first time ever playing at the Veterans Concert. Jon Bellamy and the Rebels are a rock and roll band with Southern rock and country influences.

'We would like to thank the veterans for all the sacrifice that allows us to live in this great country, 'The land of the free and the home of the brave'" said LeGette.

The event is being hosted by a group from Southern Regional Technical College to support DogTagSS, a local-profit, non profit, veterans support system in Cairo, Ga. According to the organization's website, they "collect donations at and through some of our local business and individuals as well. Donations include Money, Clothes, home products, food."

Without the local exchange club, this festival wouldn't be possible.
