Apple releases new iPad pro

Apple has released numerous new products this fall, like the Apple Watch series 4, iPhone XR and XS. With the year coming to an end, the company released a new iPad Pro, and compared to last year's model, it is light years ahead. Here’s why.

The new iPad Pro is available in two sizes: 11 inches and 12.9 inches. Apple is offering four storage options for the new IPad, as well: 64 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB, unlike the last model, which which was only offered in two options, 32 GB and 128 GB. The starting price is $799 for the 11-inch model and $999 for the 12.9-inch model.

The new iPad Pro has a Liquid Retina display and True Tone display, with the 11-inch model having 2388-by-1668-pixel resolution at 264 pixels-per-inch (ppi), and the 12.9 inch model having 2732-by-2048-pixel resolution at 264 pixels-per-inch (ppi), according to Apple.

The new iPad has the newest, fastest processors that Apple offers: the A12X Bionic chip with 64-bit architecture. It also has the most impressive camera ever put on a tablet: the rear camera is 12 megapixels, and the front-facing camera is 7 megapixels. The front-facing camera has portrait mode, portrait lighting, Animoji and Memoji, auto image stabilization, burst mode, exposure control, and timer mode.

The rear-facing camera has live photos with stabilization, wide color capture for photos and live photos, improved local tone mapping, exposure control, noise reduction, smart HDR for photos, auto image stabilization, burst mode, and timer mode.

One of the drawbacks of buying the iPad compared to the Surface Pro 6 is the battery life. The new iPad Pro only has a 10-hour battery life, which is not bad but is really short compared to the 13.5 hour life of the Surface Pro 6.
