Recap: Cairo vs Shaw

The Cairo varsity football team had an away conference at Shaw High School from Columbus, Ga., on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2018. The date was moved to Wednesday due to inclement weather. The game started at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night at Kinnett Stadium.

During the first half, Cairo kept Shaw from scoring, and while doing this, Cairo scored a total of 31 points. When the third quarter came around, Cairo allowed Shaw to score one touchdown, letting them put 7 points on the scoreboard.

At the end of the third quarter, the score between the two was 45-7, with Cairo having 45 points and Shaw having 7 points. As the game went on, Shaw scored another touchdown, scoring 7 more points in the fourth quarter. Cairo did not score any points in the fourth quarter.

The final score at the end of the game was 45-4. By winning this game, Cairo is now the region champ.

Shaw's overall record is 3-6, while in the region they are 2-6. Cairo's overall record is 7-2, and in the region they are 7-0.

The next game for Cairo varsity football team is an away conference game against the Dougherty Trojans Albany, Ga on Friday, November 2 at 7:30 pm.
