Preview: CHS Talent Show 2018

CHS will be hosting its talent show for the 2018-2019 school year on Friday, October 4 during 4th block.

The show will be run by Mrs. Jenny Harrison, who says that "This is the first talent show in two years, and the talent is outstanding at Cairo High School. We had over 20 acts audition and narrowed it down to 11."

When asked what students who are not participating in the event can expect, she said that "Students can be entertained and entranced by singing, dancing, and rapping in this year's show."

Some of the acts include Ian Batey, Bria Bogan, Travis Anderson, and Jordan Brown.

Raymond Hester, another participant in the contest, was asked by the Red and Black how he felt leading up to the event, to which he responded, "Actually I am a bit excited. I haven't done anything like this before, and I'm looking forward to the new experience."

Taylor Maige was asked about her act with her partner, Dylan Carroll, and said that "We are both excited and have been preparing for at least a month. When we perform, we do it to have fun, so it's nothing we get nervous about because we are just going out and entertaining others while having a good time."

Students can purchase tickets for $3 until second block on the day of the event from Mrs. Harrison in the Media Center, Mrs. Blough on the English wing, Mrs. Toni Gainous in the front office, or from their fourth block teacher.
