Props from 'The Office' up for sale
Fans of the award-winning show "The Office" can now buy official props from the set of the hit sitcom, which ran from 2005-2013 for nine seasons.
NBC Universal is auctioning off over 500 items on the website Screenbid, with some bids even soaring into the thousands of dollars for certain props used by fan-favorite characters such as Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell), Dwight Schrute (played by Rainn Wilson), Jim Halpert (played by John Krasinski), and Pam Beasley (played by Jenna Fischer).
The auction kicked off on Sept. 20, 2018, and is running through Oct. 5, 2018.
On Wednesday afternoon, bids reached $5,000 for the Dunder-Mifflin reception desk, $3,400 for Michael's Neon St. Pauli Girl Beer Sign, and $4,500 for Michael’s manager desk. The bids are continuing to climb.
On the other end of the auction spectrum, quite a few items are still currently under the $100 price range, with bids staring at $50. Items like Stanley's googly eye glasses, Toby's desk lamp, and Phyllis's stuffed cat, for example, can be found in this range. However, the majority of items are in the $200-300 range.
According to The Enquirer, a 24 percent buyer’s premium will be added to the winning bid of each item and each shipped item will have a $14.95 shipping fee for U.S. orders and $24.95 for International orders. These are in addition to creating, pallet and handling fees. Buyers will also receive a certificate of authenticity upon purchase of their props.
