College Football Recap: FSU vs Syracuse
FSU has had a rough start to this 2018 football season: they have only won one game so far and lost the other two, including on Saturday, September 15 to Syracuse Orange, a team in New York state which is undefeated so far this season.
In the beginning, FSU received the ball from the kickoff and gained 20 yards, according to ESPN. After suffering a loss of five yards, they were forced to punt the ball. In fact, the Seminoles didn't score a touchdown until the last quarter.
In both the first and second quarters, Syracuse was only able to a three-point field goal. However, one of the major plays of the second quarter was an interception made by the Seminoles. After Syracuse intercepted the ball, they were able to gain yards but were forced to kick a field goal.
"The score before half time was 6-0, the Noles thought they would be able to prove themselves in the second half," according to ESPN.
After half time, the Seminoles really got hit. Syracuse was able to score two touchdowns after fighting for yards down the field. This then made the score 20-0, and the Seminoles were devastated.
In the final quarter, the Noles finally scored their first touchdown. Both teams and their coaches were surprised. According to ESPN, "It was a relief off our shoulders, even though we needed to do more," according to FSU's head coach Willie Taggartt.
