Week 3 college football rankings

According to the AP polls, here are the current college football rankings.

1. Alabama

The Tide demolished Arkansas State with a score of 57-7 this past Saturday. This week, they take on Ole Miss. Can Alabama stop Arkansas State's NFL-caliber wide receivers?

2. Clemson

Clemson fought a battle with Texas A&M Saturday night and proved why they're number two in the country. This week, they face a weaker Georgia Southern team hopefully for an easier win.

3. Georgia

The Bulldogs put South Carolina out of the top 25 by beating them easily 41-17 while on the road. This Saturday they play Middle Tennessee.

4. Ohio state

The Buckeyes embarrassed Rutgers, beating them 52-3 last weekend. They didn’t go up or down in the polls, staying at four, but could a win over TCU Saturday put them higher?

5. Oklahoma

Oklahoma’s high-powered offense put up 41 points on the Bruins’ defense this past weekend. This week they play an unranked Iowa State.

6. Wisconsin

The Badgers easily beat the New Mexico Lobos this past weekend 45-14. This weekend they take on 1-1 BYU.

7. Auburn

The Tigers stayed at number seven in the polls this week after beating Alabama State 63-9. This Saturday, they play twelve-ranked LSU.

8. Notre Dame

Notre Dame beat Ball State 24-16 in a tough one Saturday. This weekend they take on Vanderbilt at 3:30 p.m.

9. Stanford

Moving up a spot from the previous week, the Cardinals shut down USC Saturday, ultimately beating them 17-3. This week, they play unranked UC Davis.

10. Washington

Last Saturday, Washington got their first win of the season, beating North Dakota 45-3, but they dropped to number ten this week in the AP polls. This week they face Utah.

11. Penn state

Last Saturday, Penn state convincingly beat Pittsburgh 51-6, moving them up two spots in the rankings. This week they take on Kent State.

12. LSU

The Tigers beat Southeastern Louisiana 31-0 Saturday, but they still moved down a ranking from last week. This week they hope to move up tremendously with a win over Auburn.

13. Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech's impressive offense put up 62 points this weekend in a big win over the William and Mary Tribe. This week, they play East Carolina.

14. West Virginia

The Mountaineers got an easy win over Youngstown Penguins last Saturday, beating them 38-21. This week they play NC State.

15. TCU

TCU beat SMU Friday 42-12. This moved them up a spot in the AP polls. This week, they take on 4th ranked Ohio State.

16. Mississippi State

The Bulldogs beat Kent State 31-10 to move them up a spot in the AP polls. This week, they take on Louisiana-Lafayette.

17. Boise State

The Broncos easily beat the Huskies Saturday 62-7. This week, they take on a much tougher opponent: Oklahoma State.

18. UCF

Central Florida beat South Carolina State 38-0 Saturday. This week, they play an unranked North Carolina.

19. Michigan

The Wolverines stayed undefeated Saturday, easily beating Western Michigan. This week, they play SMU.

20. Oregon

The Ducks got an impressive win over Portland State last weekend, beating them 62-14. This week, they take on an unranked San Jose State.

21. Miami

Last Saturday, the Hurricanes took on Savannah State and beat them 77-0. This Saturday, they take on unranked Toledo.

22. USC

Last Saturday, the Trojans were beat by Stanford 17-3. This loss knocked them down five spots in the top 25.

23. Arizona State

The Sun Devils barely beat Michigan Saturday, with the final score being 13-16. This week, they play San Diego State.

24. Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State beat South Alabama 55-13 Saturday. This week, they play their hardest opponent to date, Boise State.

25. Michigan State

The Spartans suffered a tough loss against Arizona State Saturday, but this weekend they hope to redeem themselves by beating Indiana.
