CHS to hold blood drive
On Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 8:30 am - 2:30 p.m., CHS will be holding a blood drive sponsored by One Blood. Students and staff from ages 16 and up are invited to participate.
Students must be 18 years old to participate in this blood drive without parent consent. All other students must bring a consent form with them when they are donating blood. Everyone must bring a photo ID with them and be sure to eat a full meal on that day before giving blood.
All donors will receive a free One Blood beach towel and wellness checkup, including blood pressure, iron, and cholesterol screening.
If you have any questions, concerns, or even just want to sign up, you can see Mrs. Hill. Mrs. Hill's room is located in the College and Career Center ("new building"), room number 302.
The Red and Black encourages all students who are willing to sign up. Even if you are not available August 30, you can always find a donor center or a Big Red Bus and schedule your appointment.
One Blood is a non-profit organization and is overseen by 10 members on the board of directors, according to its official website. Without the volunteers throughout the community, One Blood wouldn't even operate. One Blood has distributed nearly one million blood products annually. One Blood's footprint quote is " We are committed to saving lives in your community."
