Cairo High students create Lab Safety song

On August 14, 2018, four students from Ms. Armstrong's Human Anatomy class wrote their own lyrics to a lab safety song for a project the teacher had assigned over the weekend.

The rules were simple: create either a song, poster board, or presentation over ten of the lab safety rules from the Lab Safety Contract given to the students.

(Pictured here) From left to right, Destinee Hart, Peyton Spencer, Stirling Dekle, and Zykeria Baker created what they thought the best rules in the lab should sound like in a song.

The background music is from the artist Drake's song "In My Feelings." Principal Lokey joined the class during second block, and he overall enjoyed it. He said he will see about the video getting shared on Cairo High School's Facebook page.

Last Friday, when the students started working on the song, Assistant Principal Chief Andrew Jones watched them first practice their piece and gave positive feedback.

All the students enjoyed working together to create this song, and it was one of the best presentations of the class. Luckily, I caught a video of the Lab safety rules.

"Overall, the project was very fun to create with my classmates. I feel really great about the project, and I would love to do it again," Spencer said.
