Artist Review: Calum Scott
2015 was a big year for British singer/song-writer Calum Scott. Born October 12, 1988, in Kingston upon Hull, England, 29-year-old Scott made his first big debut on the stage of "Britain's Got Talent" and got the famous golden buzzer from none other than Simon Cowell, himself.
Before his audition, his sister, Jade Scott, performed but received a "no" from all of the judges and didn't make it through the semi-finals.
Calum is so talented that the renowned, hardest-to-please judge Simon Cowell said, "I've never ever in all the years I've done this show heard a guy with the talent you've got. Seriously. And the version was sensational, and that shows to me that you're more than a singer, you're an artist and that's why you got that."
Scott released his cover of "Dancing on My Own," which is what he performed on "Britain's Got Talent" as a single on April 15, 2016. It first hit number 40 on the charts in May of that year and hit number two in August.
On March 9, 2018, Scott released his debut album, "Only Human," which was a huge success. According to Smooth Radio, "In February 2018, he released a new duet version with former X Factor winner Leona Lewis. He said: 'Working with Leona was a dream come true. As a fan, I first remember watching her on TV before going on to grace the globe with her incredibly beautiful voice.'"
