'Glee' Cast: Where are they now?
"Glee" focuses mainly on the McKinley High School Glee Club, the New Directions, competing in the show choir competition circuit as the members of the club deal with social issues, especially regarding sexuality, race, relationships, and teamwork.
Mr. Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) directs the students to get to sectionals, regionals, and nationals. He gives them weekly assignments, and the students have to sing about those certain topics, including using their favorite artists such as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
Lea Michele, played Rachel Berry, who was considered the main lead in Mckinley High's Glee Club. Michele was a member of the cast since it first aired in 2009. She is still acting. She has been a part of "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return" (2013), "Scream Queens" (2015-2016), "Dimension 404" (2017), and "The Mayor" (2017-2018).
Kurt Hummel, who was played by Chris Colfer, was the first openly gay character introduced in the series. In the beginning of the series, Kurt was in the closet until he came out to Mercedes Jones and then later told his father, Burt. Jane Lynch, also known as Coach Sue Sylvester wanted to destroy the Glee club, the New Directions, and their teacher, Will Schuester, attempting to bring it down at any cost. Jane Lynch is still in the acting world, being a part of "The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show" (2016), "Criminal Minds" (2006-2017), "Goldie and Bear" (2017), and "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2" (2018).
Naya Rivera, played Santana Lopes, who served as the co-captain of the Mckinley High Cheerios, as a member of the school's Glee Club, the New Directions, and was also a member of the all-girls Glee Club, The Troubletones. Naya Rivera has been acting for quite a while, being a part of "The Bernie Mac Show" (2002-2006), "The Master of Disguise" (2002), and "Step Up: High Water" (2017-2018).
Arthur "Artie" Abrams, played by Kevin McHale, was one of the main male leads in the Glee Club and had also been in a wheelchair since he was eight years old. It was revealed in the "Wheels" episode that he and his mother were in a car accident. McHale has been featured in a few videos and films, including Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" (2011), "True blood" (2008), "Zoey 101" (2007-2008), and "We Bare Bears" (2016).
Jenna Ushkowitz, played Tina Cohen-Chang, was also a main lead on the show. In season One, she pretended to have a stutter, which she claimed to have started when she was younger to push people away due to her shyness. She is still acting to this day. She has been featured in Katy Perry's and Nicki Minaj's music video "Swish Swish" (2017), as well as "Yellow Fever" (2017) and "Hello Again" (2017).
Amber Riley, who played Mercedes Jones, was a main character until season 4, but came back more in season five. Mercedes was the first student to ever audition for the school's Glee Club, The New Directions. During the first season, she developed a close friendship with Kurt Hummel and a rivalry with Rachel Berry. Also pursuing acting, she has been a part of "The Wiz Live!" Heather Morris, played Brittany S. Pierce, was one of the powerful voices; she was also the senior class president for the school year 2011-2012 and one of the co-captains of the cheer leading squad, The Cheerios. Morris has also been spotted in the following movies and TV series: "Go-Go Boy Interrupted" (2016), "Psycho Wedding Crasher" (2017), and "Santa Fake" (2018).
Chord Overstreet, who played Sam Evans, made his first appearance as a new sophomore in "Audition," which is the first episode of season two, and then joined the New Directions later. After graduating, he moved to New York to pursue a modeling career, but moved back to Lima, Ohio and became the assistant football coach. He is still acting and has appeared in "ICarly" (2009), "4th Man Out" (2015), "Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!" (2015), and "Pickle and Peanut" (2016-2017).
Mark Salling, who played Noah "Puck" Puckerman, was a member of both the Glee Club and the Football Team, and enlisted in the Air Force after graduating. Salling is known for being in "Children of the Corn: The Gathering" (1996), "Walker, Texas Ranger" (1999), and "Rocky Road" (2014). He passed away on January 30, 2018, at the age of 35.
Darren Criss played Blaine Anderson, who made his debut in season two in the episode "Never Been Kissed" as the lead singer of the Dalton Academy Warblers. He later transferred to William McKinley High School at the beginning of season rhree. He is getting his name out in the acting world, from being featured in "American Horror Story" (2015), "Supergirl" (2017), "The Flash" (2017), "Transformers: Robots in Disguise" (2014-2017), and "American Crime Story" (2018).
Harry Shum Jr. is known for the role of Mike Chang in the series. He was a member of New Directions and the McKinley Varsity football team the Titans. Mike joins Glee Club after winning their first football game with the club's help. He is also known as the best dancer in the club. He is still acting to this day. He has been a part of "Fire City: End of Days" (2015), "Single by 30" (2016), "Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments" (2016-2018), and "Burn" (2018).
Cory Monteith played Finn Hudson, who was the former co-captain of the New Directions, and former quarterback of the Titans. Finn was the co-director of the New Directions after he graduated, but he went to the University of Lima to pursue a teaching degree. He then later on came back to once again help Mr. Schuester with the Glee Club. He is known for being in "Flash Gordon" (2007), 'Whisper" (2007), and "All the Wrong Reasons" (2013). Cory Monteith passed away on July 13, 2013.
Jayma Mays portrayed the role of Emma Pillsbury. Ms. Pillsbury was McKinley's guidance counselor who had OCD. Later on in the series she married Mr. Shcuester. She has been featured in both of "The Smurf movies" (2011 & 2013), "The League" (2012-2014), and "The Adventures of Puss in Boots" (2015-2018).
Dianna Agron, was known for portraying Quinn Fabray in the series. She was one of the most popular students at McKinley. She was the president of The Celibacy Club, the captain of the cheerleading team, the Cheerios, and a member of both The God Squad and New Directions. She became pregnant will Puck's baby in the first season. Dianna Agron has been spotted in a few things over the years, including "The Killers: Just Another Girl" (2013), Sam Smith: "I'm Not the Only One" (2014), and "The Crash" (2017).
