Healthy foods to eat during the summer
Summer will be here before too long, and it is a time when people are not going to be watching their diets. Some foods and drinks that you should consume throughout the summer are iced tea, watermelon, and raspberries.
People like iced tea because it's cold and refreshing, but did you know iced tea helps your body during the summer? According to EatingWell.com, "studies show if you drink [unsweet] tea regularly you may lower your risk of alzheimer's and diabetes." Also, tea can lead to "healthier teeth and gums and stronger bones." This shows iced tea is a relaxing drink but also healthy.
Another food that is healthy to eat through the summer is watermelon. According to EatingWell.com, "staying hydrated keeps your memory sharp and your mood stable. It also helps keep your body cool during hot summer months. The good news is that you don't just have to drink water. You can eat it, too in addition to delivering skin-protecting lycopene, watermelon is 92 percent water." This shows watermelon keeps you hydrated.
Raspberry is the edible fruit of a multitude of plant species in the genus rubus of the rose family, according to dictionary.com. According to eatingwell.com, "raspberries are a great source of fiber and a study shows some of it is soluble in the form of pectin which helps lower cholesterol." This shows raspberries help you lose weight because they contain fiber.
