Jimmy Fallon supports March for Our Lives
Jimmy Fallon recently joined the growing list of celebrities who support March for Our Lives. On Fallon’s “Tonight Show” he announced he will be attending the march in Washington, D.C. Last month, he promised to march.
Fallon stated, “"I’ll be there, with my family, to support the students. And I encourage all of you — families, students, teachers, anyone who wants change — head to Washington this Saturday, or find a local march happening in your city, and show your support for these kids as they make their voices heard. Our future is speaking, and we should listen."
On March 24, 2018, marches will be held all across the U.S. to push for gun control. CNN reports March for Our Lives is a demonstration started and organized by #NeverAgain: a group of students who survived the Feb. 14, 2018, shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. The main march is in Washington; however, more than 800 similar events are taking place around the world, according to CNN.
Fallon is one of the many celebrities who plan on attending this event: Oprah Winfrey, Amal and George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Hudson and much of the cast of “Modern Family" all plan to attend, the Hill reported.
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, Fallon made a statement about the march on his show again.
Fallon stated, “I just want to remind everybody that this Saturday, March 24, students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have organized a march in Washington. It's called the March for Our Lives, and it's to tell the government, loud and clear, that we demand change on the issue of gun control."
