Lakers fan buys billboards to recruit LeBron James

A Los Angeles Lakers fan by the name of Jacob Emrani bought four billboards to try to recruit Cleveland Cavaliers power forward LeBron James to come to the Lakers next year.

James may be able to become a free agent this summer, according to USA Today.

One of Emrani’s sign reads, “Forget the process, we win banners! #LABron.” The second sign says, “You can’t compete with LA.”

The sign that will be put up in the near future will put James retired no. 23 next to Lakers legends, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Brant. As of right now, the message of the fourth sign is undetermined, according to USA Today.

Even though Lakers fans are trying to lure James to Los Angeles, James' priorities right now are to get the Cavaliers to the championship.

The Lakers could have a salary cap to recruit two max free level free agents at the All- Star weekend.

The Cavaliers are currently in third place in the NBA's Eastern Conference with 38 wins, behind the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics. Meanwhile, the Lakers are in 11th place in the Western Conference with 29 wins.
