U.S. Army tanks getting active missile protection systems
The U.S. Army’s Abrams tanks will be equipped with a system designed to sense and SXLLM
The Trophy is the product of a ten-year collaborative development project between the Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aircraft Industries Group. The two groups have had different prototypes and styles of the active protection systems (APS). The new style has been incorporated into the U.S. Army's new tanks for 2018, according to Fox News.
The first time that the system was put together or even thought of was in a video game. The Trophy system came from a first-person shooter called "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" released back in November 2011. The game used it as an anti-rocket gadget for the players in a survival mode. The Trophy system was included in later "Call of Duty" games with different styles throughout. The Battlefield company even had an APS in their game, as well.
