Chrissy Teigen and John legend are having a boy
On Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, Chrissy Teigen announced that she and her husband, John Legend, will be having a baby boy. She made the announcement through a photo and caption on her Instagram. She predicted in 2017 that she would be having a boy because that was the only embryo they had left, according to Fox News.
“Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah,” Teigen, 32, tweeted in January 2017.
Teigen is a supporter for In Vitro Fertilization, which is the fertilization of an egg outside of the body. The egg is removed and fertilized in a laboratory dish and then transferred back to the body. IVF is usually for people who have infertility issues. Teigen and Legend have been trying for another child for some time, but they seemed to be having some difficulty. People criticized the couple's decision to have their first child, Luna, via IVF, and now she they doing it with their second. Her critics think that Teigen didn't try long enough before she jumped right into IVF, according to the Independent.
Teigen was honest on why she and Legend decided to have the girl first.
“I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl,” she said. “That excited me.”
