Apple could release three new iPhones in 2018
Apple will launch three new iPhone models this year, according to a reliable Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kno, of KGI Securities. Kno is well-known for predicting upcoming details about new Apple products because of his connections with the Asian manufacturing industry.
"We predict Apple (US) will launch three new iPhone models in 2H18: 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch OLED models and a 6.1-inch TFT-LCD model, all equipped with a full-screen design and TrueDepth Camera (front 3D sensing), as with iPhone X," Kuo wrote in Monday's note to Business Insider.
The price range of the new iPhones is not known yet and could change, but Kno believes they will be making to high ranged models and one low range. Both of the high-end models will be similar to the iPhone X in design and technical build. The low range could possibly have face-recognition instead of a fingerprint sensor, with a 6.1-inch LCD screen.
Kno believes there will be 100 million to 120 million iPhones assembled in the second half of 2018. He thinks Apple will release the new phones on time and that Apple will ship 25 million to 27 million iPhone X units. Apple usually releases new Iphones in September, but Apple executives have said they have new iPhone designs in November of last year.
