GAC Motor plans to come to U.S. in 2019
GAC Motor has confirmed that it plans to enter the U.S. in the fourth-quarter of 2019. The company's officials made the statement Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, according to Fox News. The company says it's negotiating with Fiat Chrysler about possible distribution of vehicles.
At the conference, GAC showed two SUV's that will possibly be produced in the U.S., called the En Verge and the GS8. The En Verge looks similar to a hatchback sport SUV, while the GS8 looks like a luxury town vehicle.
The sporty SUV is completely electric. On the En Verge, the doors are gull-wing styled and open sideways. The SUV also contains a "floating" digital dash-screen and can run 370 miles on a single charge. This would place the mileage over the Tesla Model 3.
The headlights of this vehicle are able to be detached to be used as flood lights. GAC calls this the "G light," according to The Verge. The two-door SUV contains virtual reality screens embedded in the side windows. The battery can be recharged wireless, and ten minutes is enough time for 240 miles of range.
The GS8 looks more like an everyday car, which may allow it to sell better than En Verge in America. Its general design is a three-row SUV with leather seats and plenty of travel space. It has a three-screen, intelligent interconnection and a push-to-start feature. It also has a big, extended sunroof and a mobile phone wireless charging function. The car is also able to connect to your phone for wireless commands.
