New duck-like dinosaur discovered

A fossil, rescued from poachers, has revealed a new type of dinosaur. It resembles ducks and has been said to be one of the oddest fossils discovered. According to National Geographic, it looked and hunted like a duck.

Despite these features the new species is actually related to the Velociraptor made famous by the "Jurassic Park" movies. It is said to have lived during the late Cretaceous Period, around 75 million years ago.

The fossil was rescued from poachers after the fossil was taken out of the country. According to National Geographic, "Mongolia is the source of more than 5 percent of all known dinosaur species."

The scientific name for this new dinosaur is Halszkaraptor escuilliei, and it is an amphibious theropod. It is one of the smallest known dinosaurs that had a carniverous diet consisting of fish, crustaceans, and insects.

The Halszkaraptor escuilliei had sharp claws that would help it hunt and tear its prey apart. It also has a long neck like a swan and a bill.

It is thought to be separate from the Dromaeosauridae family, which was a family of feathered theropod dinosaur.
