Georgia hammers Florida for 42-7 victory

UPDATE: Following their defeat of Florida, on Tuesday evening, the Bulldogs were rated number 1 in the first College Football Playoffs Rankings.

The Georgia Bulldogs played the Florida Gators on Oct. 28, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. The game took place in Jacksonville Fla., at the EverBank Field. The Gators suffered a heart-breaking defeat, 42-7.

Georgia moves up to number two in the Coaches and AP polls, aided by Penn State's loss to Ohio State.

The Bulldogs have four more games left. According to Dawgnation, “The Bulldogs only have one ranked opponent left on their regular season schedule, and that comes in two weeks at Auburn.”

Georgia will next be playing South Carolina at home in Sanford Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. According to ESPN, the Georgia Bulldogs will have a 90.9% chance of winning on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Gators will be playing the Missouri Tigers at 12:00 p.m. at the Faurot Field in Columbia, Mo.

The Georgia Bulldogs are still undefeated with an 8-0 record. The Florida Gators however, have a 3-4 record. After their loss against the Georgia Bulldogs, the Gators fired their head coach, Jim McElwain, due to the team's struggles on offense since he took over in 2015. Before he was head coach at Florida, McElwain was head coach at Colorado State; his job was filled at Colorado State by former Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, who is now in his third season at the school.
