BASF stands for Badische Anilin- und Soda-Fabrik, which is a German name. The main site of BASF is in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where there are 52,000 employees. There are other sites in Germany: Lemförde, Münster and Trostberg. The biotechnology plants are based in Berlin and Gatersleben, the catalytic converter plants are based in Nienburg and Hanover, and the agricultural center is in Limburgerhof, according to their website.

There are sites in America, as well. There are a total of 47 different sites in America with multiple sites in different states. The closest one located to Cairo is in Attapulgus, Ga.

The company makes different categories of products, ranging from agriculture to textile, leather, and footwear. They sell approximately 100,000 products a year, including the corporation as a whole.
