CHS NJROTC helps work carnival celebrating 40th Anniversary Family Fun Day at Koyo Bearings

On Saturday, Sept.16, 2017, the Cairo High School NJROTC cadets worked with the Fun-Tastic Promotions Company to set up a carnival to help celebrate the 40th Anniversary Family Fun Day at the Koyo Bearings USA plant.

The cadets worked from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to help pay for the cost of a trip the NJROTC unit is going to take in October. Each cadet who worked the carnival full-time earned $48 to help pay for the trip to Parris Island. In total, the unit raised $1200.

Each cadet was trained on how to do his or her job for a few minutes and got to enjoy some rides before the carnival opened. The cadets all took different jobs at the carnival: working at the concession stands, making body tattoos, and helping supervise many of the carnival games and rides.

People enjoyed carnival games and getting the opportunity to win an inflatable and a bonus prize. Games included bouncy house obstacles, rock climbing, and golf. Many foods which the cadets helped to make were available, including cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, and food from Jim ‘N’ Nick’s Bar-B-Q.

After the carnival was over, the cadets helped put up all the chairs and tables, tents, and all the bouncy houses that were used. The carnival was successful with the amount of people that showed up Saturday.
