Preview: CHS vs Hardaway


The CHS Syrupmakers varsity football team will be playing a home game against the Hardaway Hawks, from Columbus, Ga., on Sept. 15, 2017, at 7:30 p.m., at the West Thomasville stadium, in Cairo, Ga.

Both teams currently have a 1-2 record. The Hawks, who are coached by Michael Woolridge, have lost two away games and won one home game, while the Syrupmakers have won one away game (against the Thomas County Central Yellowjackets) and lost their home game (against the Bainbridge Bearcats), as well as one away game (against the Thomasville Bulldogs), according to Max Preps.

On offense, the Hawks are led by their junior quarterback, Dominique Ford, who has thrown for 285 yards so far this season. The Hawks’ top rusher is senior, Marco Lee with 389 rushing yards.

The game looks like it will a good one because both teams’ stats look very equal to each other. The Hawks are ranked at number 158 in the state of Georgia; the Syrup makers rank number 161.

Within the AAAA Region 1, the Northside Patriots are currently in first place with an undefeated record, while the Westover Patriots are in second place with a 2-1 record. Hardaway and Cairo are tied for third place, along with the Shaw Raiders, the Americus-Sumter Panthers, and the Columbus Blue Devils. The Carver Tigers are in last place with a 0-3 record, according to Max Preps.
