A sneak peek at new Battlefield 1 maps
The developers of the game "Battlefield 1," DICE, have revealed some information about the new multiplayer map. The map will be called Prise-de-Tahure and will be based on the Nivelle Offensive of World War l, according to the game's official website.
The new map is the second night map in "Battlefield" but the first night and city map to the game. The attackers are German Stormtroopers, and the defenders are the French Raiders "desperately holding onto re-captured heights in the Butte-de-Tahure region."
According to battlefield.com, it is a "war of attrition": the two armies were so powerful that neither side could destroy one another, and the only way one could win was to wear down the other until it broke or fell.
There are also French "networks" (trenches) that cut through the small villages and fields around the villages on the outside of the city.
The update that brings the new map will also change some of the mechanics in the game for the new map. The new multiplayer map will be free for all "Battlefield 1" owners.
Also, DICE has said there will be a monthly update schedule in the works to help fix bugs in the maps and other game mechanics.
