Movie Preview: 'Dunkirk'

“Dunkirk” is an upcoming action/drama movie that will be in theaters on July 21, 2017. The film is based on the true story of the Dunkirk evacuation, which happened during the beginning of World War 2. According to IMDb.com, “Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada, and France are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.”

The writer and director of this film is Christopher Nolan, who is well known for the “Dark Knight” trilogy of Batman films (2005-2012), as well as the science fiction films “Inception” (2010) and “Interstellar” (2014).

One of the main cast members in the film is Tom Hardy, who is known for appearing in other films directed by Christopher Nolan, such as “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012), in which he played the famous villain Bane. He has also starred in other films such as “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015).

According to Variety.com, a clip from the film was recently shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas and received a standing ovation. Many said it was the best they saw at the presentation, and some have even said that it could be the best WWII movie since “Saving Private Ryan.” Nolan told the audience “This is a story that needs to carry you through and make you feel you are there.”

The film is rated PG-13 for “intense war experience and some language,” according to imdb.com. The film will be in IMAX 3D and its original format.
