FAMU Gets K-9 Unit

On April 12, 2017, FAMU received their first ever K9, or trained police dog unit. According to WCTV, “the K9’s name is Que and his handler is Officer Pye.”

Que is nearly two years old and has been trained for eight months by Officer Pye. The K9 officer has three certifications and is trained for apprehending, tracking, and drugs.

According to patroldog.net, “Que recently assisted in catching a suspect who tried running from police."

Officer Pye said he wants everyone to "have a good time" who visits the campus, but he also wants to keep them same, and he feels that having the K9 unit there helps "eliminate" the "criminal element" from campus.
