Purchases of New (RED) iPhone Help Fight Spread of AIDS
On Friday, March 24, 2017, Apple will release its special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Portions of profits from the red, matte finish phones and other accessories will go to (RED), which helps support the Global Fund to end the spread of AIDS.
In 2006, (RED) was founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver to help make a new "AIDS free generation." Since then, the RED organization has made a huge impact, raising over $460 million impacting the lives of over 90 million people.
AIDS is a wide spread epidemic which was discovered in 1981. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), over 25 million people have died worldwide from AIDS since 2000, and about 37 million people are currently living with AIDS around the world right now.
Apple has been a sponsor of (RED) for ten years now, helping raise over 100 million for the Global Fund through their (PRODUCT)RED sales, which also include iPad covers, Beats headphones, and Sport bands.
