Tallahassee Mayor Apologies For Email Violation

On Wednesday, March 1, 2017, Tallahassee’s Mayor Andrew Gillum commented on his personal use of city purchased software. According to WCTV, Gillum released an apology stating that some of the emails sent from his City of Tallahassee email were not about the government.

The purchase of the software was brought up by Chairman of the Leon County Republican Party, Evan Power, who also called Gillum’s emails “a violation of the public trust.” The software known as NGP VAN is a technological tool used campaigns.

According to Tallahassee Democrat, Gillum confirmed that he will be running for governor of Tallahassee next year. He will finish his term as mayor this year, but he isn’t planning on being re-elected.
