Movie Preview: 'Power Rangers'
On March 24, 2017 the “Power Rangers” will be released. It will be rated PG-13 and is an action/science fiction film.
This film is based on the franchise that began with the early 1990s television show for kids, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.” Similar to recent reboots such as G.I. Joe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this new film is much more realistic and action-packed, with a big budget and big special effects.
In the trailer for the film, a group of teens finds an object that catches their eyes and go to see what it is. They don’t expect to be the chosen “Power Rangers,” but the teens later on realize they have special powers. They later have to defend their city against an alien attack.
Although the actors playing the rangers, themselves, are not very well-known, the film features a few famous actors in other roles, including comedian Bill Hader, known from “Saturday Night Live”; Bryan Cranston, known from “Breaking Bad”; and Elizabeth Banks, who has appeared in many movies over the past decade, including “The Hunger Games” trilogy
The director of the film is Dean Israelite, he is not really known for a lot of movies. Dean has also directed the movie “Project Almanac” two years ago in 2015.
The movie will be in IMAX 3D, as well as the normal 2D format. The nearest IMAX 3D theater is located in Tallahassee.
